Overview

The Kha'ak Destroyer is the most powerful Kha'ak warship. It is difficult to destroy in a fight, as it has considerably superior missile defences compared to other ships. However, it is not powerful enough to be of any major concern to another destroyer.

Background

Kha'ak Destroyers were first seen in the Kha'ak attack on President's End. They also participated in the assault on Omicron Lyrae where several were destroyed and the tide of the war was turned. They are often found in Kha'ak sectors, defending against Commonwealth incursions.

Encyclopedia Entry

This ship is extremely dangerous. Keeping your distance would be advised. A scout recorded a count of at least 18 weapons, 3 mounted on 6 turrets. It has not been confirmed yet if this is true. This ship was also present at the first encounter, where it single-handedly destroyed two stations. It is approximately the equivalent of a Destroyer class ship.

Physical Characteristics

The Kha'ak Destroyer is nearly identical to the Kha'ak Carrier. It has a spherical grey abdomen and several purple front "tentacles", giving the ship the overall appearance of a backward-facing squid.

Combat

As with the other Kha'ak battleships, the fact that it uses the sadly outdated Gamma Kyon Emitters for its main defence against enemy capitals means it poses little threat to similar classed opponents. Its main advantageous features in combat are its shielding, small size, and near-impeccable missile and fighter defence. It can be killed by smaller ships using the indentation in its rear to pump as much firepower as possible into it as well as being wekce to any anti capital wepon even the ibl

The Kha'ak destroyer cannot be purchased, and like other Kha'ak ships, cannot be boarded.

Suggested Roles

The Kha'ak Destroyer is fast and well-shielded for a destroyer, but the Gamma Kyon Emitter is not competitive with other capital-class weaponry, so the KM2 should not be used against other capital ships. Thanks to its (nearly) hit-scan weaponry, however, it makes a formidable anti-fighter swarm and anti-corvette platform. This all assumes, of course, that modding had made the ship and weaponry available.

Curiously, the Destroyer carries ST-class cargo, so it can carry a Complex Construction Kit to help with complexes if it must.
