With moderate/high speed and moderate/low shielding, the Mako's selling point is its large cargo capacity.

Variants

Mako

Not featuring any fancy title, the basic version of the ship is the standard by which other variants are measured.

Mako Enhanced

Enhanced ships have been tinkered with, often supporting improved speed and shielding. Enhanced ships are generally not sold at shipyards.

Mako Raider

Raider variants are faster and usually have a higher shield generator power than their regular counterparts, but trade off cargo capacity and some have reduced shield capacity despite the more powerful generator.

Mako Sentinel

Sentinel variants of ships tend to be slower, but with higher total shield capacity. Sometimes the shield class is also upgraded for instance from 25 MJ to 200 MJ.

Mako Vanguard

Vanguard variants of ships are slightly faster and have bigger weapons generators than their regular counterparts.

Combat

The Mako's choice of weapons is somewhat limited; it can mount the Ion Disruptor but otherwise its only real choice of cannon is the PAC. Being relatively quick and nimble it is capable of taking on a larger target, but care must be taken as it won't survive long if caught in a volley of fire.
